Dashboards for release weeks

· Sora Kim

During release weeks, attention is scarce. A useful application analytics view surfaces crash rate, key funnel conversion, support ticket volume linked to new features, and adoption of the shipped change.

Compare against the prior release window, not against an arbitrary all-time average. Seasonality and marketing campaigns distort baselines.

Assign owners before the release. When a metric moves, someone should already know whether to investigate, roll back, or wait for more data.

Archive the release board afterward. Historical release views become a quiet library of what “normal” looked like for each ship—far more useful than a perpetual mega-dashboard.
